My role involved crafting impactful visuals and illustrations that harmonized seamlessly with the article content, tone and subject matter that I was assigned. Over the course of my tenure as a designer and art director, our collective efforts were recognized with multiple prestigious Midas Awards, highlighting our excellence in design and layout. The central idea revolves around these companies emerging as the dominant force, akin to an 800 lb. gorilla, and is visually represented by images of the gorilla shaking up the corporate landscape. The article titled ‘Invisible Borders,’ featured below, delves into how digital currency is revolutionizing travel by enabling seamless international journeys without the need for currency exchange, with payments directly linked to travelers’ accounts. The concept here is to replace the iconic image of a travel suitcase adorned with stickers from various destinations with that of a wallet. This wallet is positioned atop a digitized global map, symbolizing the intersection of global travel and the realm of digital currency. The core concept behind this section is to extract crucial insights from a sea of numbers and visually demonstrate their interconnectedness. The article below is an introduction to the client’s “Spend Trend” capabilities. Spend Trend is a proprietary reporting service from First Data that gives insights and analysis of U.S. consumer buying behavior, helping facilitate forecasting, benchmarking, and business decisions. The infographic is a playful way of showing the kind of insights one might get from SpendTrend. Below is the photo illustrations, layout and concept I created for the article.
A concept driven by the client, this idea uses a London subway map to depict First Data’s global scale and commerce offerings. The map shows how the offerings are seamlessly connected and is a glimpse into the possibilities that this connection of services brings to merchants, financial institutions, and consumers.
